The Ministry of Tourism & Transport, Culture & Sport is encouraging eligible PSV licence holders to take advantage of the final opportunity to apply for Bermuda’s first regulated ridesharing permits before applications close this Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
Minister of Tourism & Transport, Culture & Sport, the Hon. Owen Darrell, JP, MP, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new chapter in Bermuda’s transportation industry. We want to encourage eligible PSV licence holders to apply and help shape a modern, reliable transportation service that benefits both residents and visitors.”
A total of 150 permits will be issued as part of the initial rollout, including 10 permits for wheelchair-accessible vehicles, with ridesharing operations set to begin on June 10, 2026.
The new ridesharing initiative has been designed to provide additional transportation support during busy periods while continuing to protect taxi priority within Bermuda’s regulated public transport system.
Applications and eligibility details are available through the Transport Control Department website. Additional information and FAQs can also be found at Government of Bermuda Ridesharing FAQs.
Applications must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
