The Ministry of Youth, Social Development and Seniors is proud to commend the Mirrors Programme on the successful participation of Cohort 20 in the international SuperCamp Singapore 2025. From 28 June to 9 July, 25 Bermudian students and nine adult staff members took part in an immersive and transformative educational experience abroad. This milestone continues the longstanding partnership between Mirrors and Quantum Learning Global, which began in 2016. The programme integrates the Quantum Learning SuperCamp methodology, which emphasises personal development, social-emotional learning, and academic excellence through core principles such as Integrity, Commitment, and Ownership.
Reflecting on the programme's success, Minister Tinee Furbert stated, “Our young people returned from Singapore inspired, confident, and connected, not just to one another but to a global community of learners. They overcame personal barriers, embraced new cultures, and discovered a deeper sense of self. What they’ve gained from SuperCamp is more than skills; it’s a foundation for leadership and service. This experience is a powerful example of what is possible when we invest in the holistic development of our youth.”
A notable feature of this year’s camp was the contribution of five emerging young leaders from Bermuda who received intensive staff training and served as junior team leaders during SuperCamp. They developed vital skills in facilitation, active listening, and peer coaching, significantly enhancing the learning experience for all. Additionally, three Mirrors staff members, Jenay Edness Gomez, Nelson Bascome, and Letitia Washington, completed advanced facilitation training, delivering high-impact sessions onsite and strengthening Bermuda’s presence and leadership within the global programme. Their work exemplified the Mirrors values of Commitment, Integrity, and Self-Expression, and brought valuable expertise back to local SuperCamp initiatives. The Camp Leadership Mirrors Staff, which include Kimberley Jackson, Jonathan Nisbett, Joanne Woods, Erica Woods, and Rosheena Masters, continue to showcase their leadership for youth.
Looking ahead, the Mirrors Coaching for Success Programme for Cohort 20 is set to launch in October 2025 and run through May 2026. During this time, participants will implement community-based projects focused on emotional and social development, applying what they’ve learned in Singapore to positively impact their schools and neighbourhoods. This overseas experience has significantly enriched the leadership capacity of both the youth and adult staff and will continue to elevate the transformative impact of the Mirrors Programme throughout Bermuda.
