Bermudians Encouraged to Apply for Bursary Awards

Bursary Awards

The Bermuda Government remains at the forefront of investing in our people and future by supporting the educational and career aspirations of Bermuda’s young people.

In line with this, the Government is now accepting applications for another round of Public Service Bursary Awards.

The Bursary Awards recognise talented individuals who will meet the future needs of Government Departments by attracting candidates in specialised fields, particularly in roles that are often challenging to fill, and who will play a key role in the Public Service.

A Cabinet Office spokesperson said today, “The Public Service is dedicated to attracting and nurturing Bermuda's top talent, ensuring they reach their full potential. The Bermuda Government’s Bursary Awards programme offers financial support and recognition to outstanding individuals who have shown commitment, perseverance, and potential in academic studies that align with the future needs of the Service. We are seeking individuals who are pursuing a varied, dynamic, and fulfilling career in the public service, and we encourage young people to apply for this year’s Bursary Awards.”

The deadline for applications is September 27, 2024.

Bursaries are valued at $20,000 per annum; not exceeding five (5) years.

Applicants are being sought for the following posts:

  • Policy Analyst
  • Environmental Health Officer

To be considered for a Bursary Award, applicants must:

  • Be Bermudian;
  • Have completed no less than 5 years of schooling in Bermuda;

  • Be in an Undergraduate or Master’s Degree programme; and
  • Be planning a career in the Public Service upon completion of their education.

Bursaries are awarded by the Public Service Commission (PSC) to selected applicants enrolled in courses of study at a university, college, or other training institution, in order to acquire professional or technical qualifications.
