The Department of Sport and Recreation today announced that the launch of the Camp Connect platform, originally scheduled for April 27, will launch on May 4.
Minister of Tourism & Transport, Culture & Sport, the Hon. Owen Darrell, JP, MP, emphasized the importance of getting the system right, stating, “We understand how important this platform is for parents and guardians, and we want to ensure that when Camp Connect launches, it delivers a smooth, fair, and dependable experience. Our teams have been working tirelessly to get this right, and taking a bit more time now will help us better serve families in the long run.”
This decision reflects a commitment to delivering a reliable, user-friendly experience for families. Over the past several weeks, technical teams and programme partners have been working extensively behind the scenes to finalize system enhancements, conduct testing, and ensure that all aspects of the platform function smoothly at launch.
Camp Connect represents a significant modernization of the summer camp registration process, designed to improve fairness, transparency, and accessibility for all families. Given the importance of this initiative, additional time is being taken to ensure the platform performs as intended under high demand.
The Ministry extends its sincere appreciation to the Digital Transformation Team (DTT) and all stakeholders who have contributed to the development of this system.

Their dedication and expertise have been instrumental in moving this project forward, and we are confident that the final product will greatly benefit families across our community.”
