The Department of Health hailed their four-hour “Celebrating Wellness” event yesterday a huge success.
People enjoyed a wide variety of family friendly activities on land at the Barr’s Bay Park on Pitt’s Bay Road – and, tried gig rowing on a pilot gig, a six-oared rowing boat.
The afternoon of free events – from 4pm to 8pm - was themed “Be Healthy, Stay Healthy: Preserving Our Workforce”, featuring music, dance, free health screenings and even career guidance, skills development, resume building and ergonomics.
The purpose of the annual end of summer event is to promote the important role that physical activity and healthy eating play in achieving a healthy lifestyle.
