The Department of Planning proudly announces the launch of a new online quarterly statistics resource with insight into Bermuda’s development activity and departmental operations.
This new resource, now available to the public and industry stakeholders, demonstrates the Department’s ongoing commitment to transparency, accessibility, and evidence-based public information. It delivers measurable data on planning applications, permits, inspections, and other operations, helping the public better understand development trends and the volume of work the Department processes.
The quarterly statistics also offer broader insight into activity within Bermuda’s construction and development sectors. For example, information such as changes in application volumes and commencement inspections over time may help indicate levels of development activity, investment confidence, and construction sector activity across the island.
The Minister for the Cabinet Office and Digital Innovation, the Hon. Diallo Rabain, JP, MP, explained, “Making this information publicly available on a consistent basis supports informed discussion and provides greater visibility into both departmental performance and wider industry trends. The Department of Planning is committed to improving access to planning-related data and ensuring the public has a clearer understanding of planning activity in Bermuda.”
By regularly updating and publishing these statistics, the Department aims to support greater public awareness of planning operations while providing a useful resource for homeowners, developers, industry professionals, researchers, and other interested stakeholders.
The quarterly statistics are available on the Department of Planning website at planning.gov.bm.
