Public Health Week will take place from 9 - 13 April and the Department of Health is inviting nominations for the 2018 Public Health Awards. The awards provide a unique opportunity to promote actions that can improve our health. This year’s theme is “You’re the Solution - Commit to Change”.
If you know individuals or organisations that have contributed significantly to public health by offering Prevention or Wellness programmes or services to prevent non-communicable diseases (NCDs) by reducing risk factors, you are invited to nominate them for a Public Health Award.
There are many individuals and organisations in Bermuda that promote the prevention of NCDs. The Department of Health wishes to recognise those that contribute to the prevention of NCDs by reducing risk factors such as overweight/obesity, high blood pressure, raised blood glucose, raised blood cholesterol, tobacco and alcohol use and physical inactivity.
The Public Health Awards ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, 12 April and nominations are to be submitted no later than 31 March 2018.
For more details on who is eligible or to submit a nomination form, please call the Health Promotion Office on 278 4900 or email healthpromotion@gov.bm.
