The Department of Sport & Recreation is pleased to announce a series of upcoming events aimed at enhancing Bermuda’s summer camp experience. These initiatives will provide valuable information, resources, and networking opportunities for camp operators and service providers ahead of the 2025 summer season. The first of these events is the Camp Connect Information Session, which will offer insights into the benefits of the programme and clarify processes and expectations for both new and experienced camp operators. The session will be held online via Webex on Thursday, 13 March 2025, at 12:30 PM, 4:00 PM, or 6:00 PM.
Minister of Tourism & Transport, Culture & Sport, The Hon. Owen Darrell, JP, MP, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming events, stating, "These initiatives reflect our commitment to ensuring Bermuda’s children have access to enriching and well-structured summer camp experiences. By equipping camp operators with the necessary resources and training, we are investing in the future of our youth. I encourage all camp facilitators and service providers to take advantage of these opportunities."
The Department is also inviting vendors who offer services beneficial to Summer Day Camp operators to participate in the Vendors’ Market, which will take place on Saturday, 22 March 2025. This event provides a platform for vendors to showcase their offerings to camp providers looking to enhance their programmes.
Additionally, the Day Camp Conference & Vendors’ Market will be hosted at Bermuda College on Saturday, 22 March 2025. The conference, beginning at 8:30 AM, will feature workshops on topics such as working with children with autism, conflict management, and water safety. The Vendors’ Market will follow at 2:00 PM. This event is ideal for camp facilitators, aspiring camp organisers, and childcare providers.
