Government of Bermuda Announces Public Service Career Expo

Government of Bermuda

The Government of Bermuda today announced the Public Service Career Fair & Expo, which will be held on Thursday, June 18 at Pier 6. The event will feature career specific booths, access to information on training and apprenticeship programmes, virtual and in-person panel discussions and demonstrations, bringing together ministries and departments to give the public an opportunity to explore the wide range of careers available across the public service.

The Career Fair & Expo is intended to build workforce awareness and encourage college and high school students, job seekers and career changers to learn more about modern public service roles and career pathways. Reflecting a cross‑Government approach, the Fair & Expo will allow attendees to explore the diversity of professions and career paths across the public service and consider how their own interests, education, skills and experience could align.

Head of the Public Service, Mrs. Cherie-lynn Whitter, said, “The career fair is an opportunity for people to gain clearer insight into the rich and varied careers within the public service, and how they are structured and accessed. Many people are familiar with Government services but may not know the range of professions, entry routes and career progression that exist behind them. This Fair & Expo will allow people to engage directly with public officers, understand the skills required across different roles and begin to reimagine how a career in the public service could fit into their own professional journey. I encourage students, career changers and members of the public to attend, explore the options available, ask questions and apply for jobs and training opportunities.”

Acting Minister for the Cabinet Office and Digital Reform, The Hon. Tinee Furbert, JP, MP said, “The Government is pleased to support this initiative in our bid to ensure a sustainable public service. The Public Service Career Fair & Expo is a Government‑led, inclusive initiative focused on career exploration and informed decision‑making.”

Additional information on programming and attendance will be shared in the coming weeks.
