His Excellency the Governor, Andrew Murdoch, invites expressions of interests for appointment to the Public Service Commission

His Excellency the Governor encourages qualified persons to submit expressions of interest for future appointment to the Public Service Commission by the Governor in consultation with the Premier and the Leader of the Opposition.

The Governor said: “The Public Service Commission is an independent, politically impartial, body responsible for ensuring that all appointments, promotions and disciplinary matters within Bermuda’s public service are conducted efficiently, fairly and without political interference.  The work of the Public Service Commission is vital to an effective public service.  It is critical to capacity building, as well as maintaining public confidence in the public service.

Members of the Commission need to act with integrity, impartiality and independence.  The nature of the work necessitates either expertise and experience in human resources and/or legal experience with working knowledge of employment law matters.  I would encourage all those qualified individuals who believe they possess the requisite knowledge, skills and experience to make an effective contribution to the work of the Public Service Commission to submit an expression of interest.”

Qualification requirements for membership of the Public Service Commission are provided for in Sections 81 to 84 of the Bermuda Constitution 1968 (Bermuda Constitution Order 1968).

Those interested are requested to submit the following documents to Government House (governmenthouse@gov.bm) by 5pm on Friday 9 May 2025:

• Cover letter stating why you are interested in serving on the Public Service Commission; what you have to offer to the role, and confirmation that you meet the eligibility requirements for membership; and

• Curriculum vitae (maximum two pages)

Expressions of interest will be held by Government House and will be considered as and when vacancies arise.
