The Ministry of Health invites young people and their families to a special FREE Movie Night on Saturday, 17 May 2025, at the BUEI Tradewinds Auditorium, featuring the screening of Inside Out 2—Disney Pixar’s sequel, exploring the power of emotions and the journey through adolescence.

Hosted as part of Bermuda’s Mental Health Anti-Stigma Campaign, this event is designed to help young people aged 10–15 years better understand their emotional well-being in a supportive, engaging environment. The evening will include a panel discussion with mental health advocates immediately following the film, offering practical tips and real-life strategies for managing the ups and downs of growing up. Panelists include Maxine Brown, Christopher Jackson, and Jah-nai Smith.

Inside Out 2 provides a powerful springboard for conversations about emotional resilience, change, and growth, and is perfectly aligned with the Ministry’s mission to reduce stigma and promote emotional health in our community,” says the Minister of Health, the Hon. Kim Wilson, JP, MP.

“The Youth Mental Health Team that has led the planning of this event wanted to ensure that a safe, welcoming space for young people was created, where they could learn about their emotions, connect with others, and gain tools to support their mental well-being. I encourage young people and their families to attend together, have meaningful conversations, and be part of breaking the stigma around mental health.”

Schedule of Events:

  • Check-In & Chill: 4:00 PM – 4:25 PM
  • Movie Screening: 4:30 PM – 6:15 PM
  • Panel Discussion: 6:30 PM – 7:10 PM
  • Mix & Mingle: 7:15 PM – 7:30 PM

While admission is free, snacks and drinks will not be provided, so attendees are encouraged to plan accordingly.

Zayne Sinclair, Youth Mental Health Plan Coordinator, adds, “This event is more than a movie night; it’s an invitation to come together as a community and support the emotional well-being of our young people. Parents, guardians, and family members are encouraged to attend alongside their young people to help foster understanding and open communication. Join us this Saturday, May 17, at BUEI and take part in building a healthier, more emotionally resilient Bermuda.”
