EMO Update Oct 1 - 9:45pm

Following the 6.00 am (and final) Bermuda Weather Service (BWS) update, please note the latest Emergency Measures Organisation (EMO) update from the Minister of National Security, Michael Weeks, JP, MP.

Video update here: EMO Update 8.00 a.m. - Oct. 31. The Minister is joined by the Michelle Pitcher of the BWS and Mr. Noel Martin, the DRRM National Disaster Coordinater.

Initial EMO reports indicate that there are a number of fallen trees and debris, and downed electrical wires and utility poles across the island.

And we are receiving reports of persons on the roads.

As a critical matter of safety we are urging the public to please stay off the roads. Our emergency work crews are conducting their assessments and are engaged in clearing the roads.

The EMO will meet at 10.00 a.m. this morning and a public update will follow shortly thereafter.
