
Today, the Ministry of Economy and Labour released the November 2024 Retail Sales Index publication.
November’s volume of retail sales index increased 0.8 per cent compared to last year. In value terms, retail sales increased to an estimated $107.2 million.
Four of the seven sectors recorded a year-over-year volume index increase in November 2024:

The sales volume for Building Material Stores increased 24.6 per cent.

Liquor Stores’ sales volume grew 2.9 per cent.

Food Stores’ sales volume grew 2.5 per cent.

Service Stations’ sales volume increased 0.2 per cent.
The following sectors had a decrease in sales volume compared to the previous year:

The sales volume at Apparel Stores decreased 0.7 per cent.

In the All Other Store Types sector (comprising stores selling household items, furniture, appliances, electronics, pharmaceuticals and tourist-related goods), there was a 1.9 per cent decline in sales volume.

The sales volume for Motor Vehicle Stores decreased 4.9 per cent.
Selected overseas declarations decreased 0.9 per cent compared to November 2023.
