Step up, take the challenge: Launch of Uniformed Services Recruitment Campaign

UNIFORMED SERVICES

"This campaign is a call to all Bermudians to 'step up, take the challenge' and consider a fulfilling career in our uniformed services," said Minister of National Security Michael Weeks.

The Ministry of National Security is announcing the launch of a comprehensive, multi-month campaign to encourage Bermudians—whether men or women, including young individuals and Bermudians residing overseas—to consider a rewarding career in one of the Island's five uniformed services.

The services are the Bermuda Police Service, Royal Bermuda Regiment, Customs Department, Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service, and the Department of Corrections.

Central to the campaign is the dedicated webpage gov.bm/uniformedservices, which will serve as a one-stop resource for detailed information about each service, engaging videos, contact details, and updates on upcoming recruitment periods.

While each uniformed service recruits at different times based on their individual needs and vacancies, interested individuals are encouraged to regularly visit the webpage for the latest updates about upcoming recruitment periods.

Minister Weeks expressed his strong support for the initiative and added: "Whether you are a young person – a young man or a young woman -- exploring your future or a Bermudian abroad thinking of returning home, these roles offer stability, personal growth, and a meaningful way to give back to our island."

Minister Weeks emphasised the importance of community involvement in spreading the word. "I urge everyone to share this message with friends and family," he appealed.

"Our uniformed services are the backbone of Bermuda's safety and well-being, and we need dedicated individuals to continue this vital work.

“Even if your desired service isn't recruiting at this moment, don't be discouraged. Please stay engaged, check the website regularly, and prepare yourself for when the opportunity arises."

The campaign will span several months and will feature video advertisements, radio spots, graphics, and widespread publicity across all Bermuda Government platforms to reach Bermudians wherever they are.
