Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport Senator, the Hon. Owen K. Darrell was invited to attend the Caribbean Week 2024 hosted by the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) in New York from June 16 - 21, 2024.

This year’s event at the InterContinental New York Times Square, marked the organization's 35th anniversary. It brought together the region's finest tourism representatives and industry leaders under the theme ‘Connecting the Globe, Celebrating Diversity. '

Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport Senator, the Hon. Owen K. Darrell was invited to attend the 51st CARIFTA Games which took place from Saturday, March 30th to Monday, April 1st.  Minister Darrell joined other Sports Ministers in the Caribbean at the Kirani James Athletics Stadium in Queens Park, St. Georges, Grenada.

Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport Senator, the Hon. Owen K. Darrell was invited to attend the 2024 first-quarter Caribbean Tourism Organization [CTO] Meeting in Saint Martin, which took place from February 5 - February 6, 2024.   Minister Darrell joined other Tourism Ministers in the Caribbean regions.

Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport Senator, the Hon. Owen K. Darrell was invited to attend the third annual World Anti-Doping Agency [WADA] Forum which took place from January 15 – 17, 2024.   Minister Darrell joined several other Sports Ministers in the Caribbean regions.

Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, Senator, the Hon. Owen K. Darrell was invited to attend the Bermuda Saks Fifth Avenue Holiday Window which took place at Saks, Fifth Avenue in New York from December 14^th to December 15th, 2023.   

This travel will provide opportunities for the Minister and the attending technical officers to: -

Minister of Youth, Culture and Sport,  Senator, the Hon. Owen K. Darrell was invited to attend the 10th Commonwealth Youth Ministers Meeting which took place at Marlborough House in London, United Kingdom from September 11th to September 15th, 2023.   The Commonwealth Meeting is held every four years, addressing youth policy for Commonwealth member states.  The meeting contributes to broader social and sustainable development goals from a youth development perspective.

Minister of Youth, Culture and Sport, Senator the Hon. Owen K. Darrell, JP attended the 16th Special Olympics World Games 2023 which took place in Berlin, Germany from June 16 through June 25th, 2023.   

On Saturday June 17th, 2023 a 33-strong delegation participated in the Opening Ceremony of the Special Olympics World Games. The Special Olympics World Games is a global organization that serves athletes with intellectual disabilities working with hundreds of thousands of volunteers and coaches annually.

Minister of Youth, Culture and Sport,  Senator, the Hon. Owen K. Darrell was invited to attend the 50^th Carifta Games 2023 which took place in Nassau, Bahams from April 7 thru April 11th, 2023.   As you may be aware, Bermuda is looking to stage sporting events in the fiscal year 2023-2024.

Minister of Youth, Culture and Sport Senator, the Hon. Owen K. Darrell was invited to attend Senior Men's Bermuda Cricket Team at the ICC Americas - Men's T20 World Cup 2024 - First Round Qualifiers which took place in Argentina from February 24 thru February 28th.

It was critical for the Minister to attend the regional qualifers that are to be held in  Argentina in February 2023, as the Government's ambassador for sports,  this travel will provide opportunities for the Minister and the attending technical officer to :
