Hospitality Job Fair
More than 130 individuals attended the 2nd Annual Hospitality Recruitment Drive, that took place yeaterday (Dec. 14), at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess and Beach Club.
The event, which was a partnership with the Department of Workforce Development, Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA) and the Bermuda Hotel Association (BHA), showcased a variety of career opportunities in the hospitality/hotel industry for the upcoming 2023 season.
Industry representatives from hotels, guest properties, education institutions, retail, restaurants and other hospitality related organisations were on hand to share relevant information about their career offerings.
The Minister of Tourism, Vance Campbell and the Minister of Economy & Labour the Hon. Jason Hayward also attended the event.
Minister Hayward said, “It was encouraging to see a steady flow of individuals interested in joining the hospitality industry.
“This event was directly aligned with the Government’s National Re-employment an Youth Employment Strategies. As all of Bermuda can appreciate, our hospitality sector is vital to the island's economic recovery.
“I look forward to seeing the positive outcomes from this event. I want to thank Tracey Berkeley of the BTA, Stephen Todd of the Bermuda Hotel Association and the team at the Department of Workforce Development.”
And Minister Campbell said, “The Government will continue to work to ensure that Bermudians can take advantage of hospitality jobs, as this industry requires Bermudians to be a part of it.
“I'm pleased with the participation of our industry partners, as the event has evolved to include restaurants as well as other hospitality industry stakeholders.”
