The Department of Health is offering the PIVIO Lifestyle Medicine Program
The Department of Health (DOH) is offering the PIVIO Lifestyle Medicine Program. PIVIO, a Comprehensive Health Improvement Program is a well-established lifestyle education initiative, centering its approach on plant-based nutrition, physical activity, stress reduction, mindfulness training, and positive psychology. This program has a proven track record of guiding individuals towards positive health transformations, resulting in potential reductions in medication dependency, weight loss, and enhancements in cholesterol and blood glucose levels.
Beginning on March 21, the structured PIVIO classes will be conducted through remote sessions spanning a 9-week duration, providing a comprehensive and impactful journey toward improved well-being. While the classes are online, DOH has implemented several in-person activities to encourage participants throughout the program and DOH staff will be on hand to answer any questions. Registration for the program is now open until February 29, with a fee of $200 per person covering online classes and provided materials.
To learn more about the DOH PIVIO Program, please join the online live Information Session Tuesday, February 13 and Thursday, February 15 at 5:30 pm on the Department of Health Facebook page. There will be additional Information Sessions on February 20, 22, and 27. Registration for the PIVIO program ends on Thursday, February 29.
The public is invited to attend the official launch of the program on Wednesday, February 14th, at a pop-up cooking demonstration at the Marketplace on Church Street Hamilton. The DOH has invited aspiring Bermudian culinary student, Naji Bean to demonstrate the ease of preparing healthy deserts for Valentine’s Day. Mr Bean is a 2nd year student at Bermuda College.
