Reminder: Electrical NOC Recertification Deadline – January 6, 2025

Workforce Development

The Department of Workforce Development reminds all electricians in Bermuda holding a valid or recently expired Electrical National Occupational Certification (NOC) that the deadline to complete the mandatory NOC Recertification is January 6, 2025.

Maintaining certification ensures compliance with the Department of Planning's regulations and helps you stay at the forefront of industry standards and professional practice.

Please note the following key compliance requirements:

  • Individual Certification: Certification applies to individuals, not companies. Every electrician must hold a valid certification to practice legally.

  • Legal Obligation: According to Section 4 (Compulsory Certification), Subsection 3 of the Act: "A person shall not work or be employed in a designated occupation which requires compulsory certification unless that person has been granted a national occupational certification in that occupation."

Employers are urged to ensure all electricians under their employ are certified by the deadline. Failure to comply may result in enforcement action under the law.
