The Government of Bermuda congratulates Bermuda’s Under-17 women’s national football team on qualifying for the next round of the Concacaf Women’s Under-17 World Cup qualifiers. This accomplishment reflects the team’s discipline, commitment, and determination throughout the qualifying campaign and marks an important milestone for youth football in Bermuda.
The Minister of Tourism & Transport, Culture & Sport, the Hon. Owen Darrell, JP, MP, commended the team, noting that he was present at all three home matches during the first round of qualifiers in Bermuda, where he had the opportunity to witness their performance firsthand.
“Sport matters, and this is a proud moment for Bermuda,” said Minister Darrell. “I had the privilege of attending all three home games and experienced the discipline and heart these young athletes displayed on the pitch. They represented our island with distinction, and their success is a testament to their hard work and dedication. The Government remains committed to supporting the development of our athletes as they continue to compete on the international stage.”
The Government joins the Bermudian public in wishing the players and coaching staff continued success as they prepare for the next phase of qualification.
