This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the Government of Bermuda (the “Government”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for Pilot Boat as further described in Section A of the RFP Particulars (Appendix D) (the “Deliverables”).
The successful proponent must have the ability to design and build a new Pilot Boat design specifically for the transfer of Pilots, offshore Medical evacuations, crew transfers and to serve as a backup boat for offshore Search and Rescue with minor Fire Fighting capabilities. The vessel will be built to Lloyds Classification by an accredited boat builder by some of the below specifications. The vessel must have good sea keeping capabilities, propeller driven twin screw and must be of modern design. LOA: approximately 55' or 17m Beam: 17' or 5m Draft: 5' or 1.5m.
The power plant and auxiliary engine must be purchased from an authorised dealer, designed to deliver a service speed of 20 knots designed to be efficient and operate in economy mode. This vessel must be fitted with an A/C unit; all deck and hull hardware and pumps should be of high standard and industry quality.
The cockpit must be of modern design, outfitted with easy to use navigation equipment and must provide a good view of the foredeck and of the pilot boarding area. The cabin must be designed for comfort for a work boat of this class with seating arrangements up to six with accommodations for a stretcher.

Failure to adhere to this rule may result in the disqualification of the proponent and the rejection of the proponent’s proposal.
