Independent Clinical Waste Incinerator Exhaust Analysis and Assessment
The Department of Environment & Natural Resources seeks an environmental monitoring
company to provide independent analytical monitoring of gaseous-based contaminants in the
exhaust of a clinical waste incinerator over a period of 3-months with assessment and reporting
of the results. The clinical waste incinerator is based in Southside and has been provided with a
construction permit and operating licence by the Environmental Authority under the Clean Air Act
1991.
The successful respondent will need to measure the various contaminants in the gaseous portion
of the exhaust and compare these results to:
1. The limits provided in the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) for Small Waste Incineration
Plants (SWIP) as regulated under the UK Environmental Permitting Regulations (EPR),
2. The emission rates used in the air dispersion modelling for this facility, and
3. The contaminant data for gaseous-based pollutants that will also be measured by the
owner/operator of the facility, MediWaste (Bermuda) Triad Ltd.
