Executive Summary:

The Government of Bermuda, Ministry of National Security, through the Bermuda Police Services (hereafter known as “BPS”), is soliciting proposals from local firms to provide comprehensive technical support for their core network and server infrastructure. This support encompasses proactive monitoring, real-time analysis, and immediate response services, ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of the BPS network and server infrastructure.

In addition to the aforementioned support activities, the selected firm will be expected to provide on-site support as needed. This on-site support, though infrequent, is crucial for addressing critical issues promptly and ensuring uninterrupted operations, as the BPS must maintain functionality 24/7.

The successful respondent will deliver Level-3 network and server support and monitoring, encompassing email maintenance and support, core infrastructure software support, security management, and disaster recovery measures. This includes being available for on-site support when required, ensuring timely resolution of critical issues.

Collaboration with the BPS Technology Department's technical staff and other vendors, including proprietary software vendors and internet service providers, is paramount. The primary objective is to ensure optimal functionality of the BPS IT system for end-users. Furthermore, the selected respondent will work closely with IT management to strategize for the long term, ensuring systems remain current, functional, and cost-effective in alignment with IT best practices.

Prior experience in providing support to medium to large-sized companies with operations across multiple locations is preferred. Proficiency in VMware Environment, supporting multiple hardware manufacturers, and maintaining local and wide area network systems is essential.

While the specifications outlined serve as minimum standards established by the BPS, potential respondents are encouraged to propose additional recommendations or expert opinions based on their expertise and experience. The BPS acknowledges that this overview provides a general understanding of its environment and current infrastructure and welcomes suggestions for enhancements or optimizations.
